Something for everyone

THEY say that a Stitch in Time saves nine. Join Lois and her team for a knitting and stitching group in the Parlour Café on Wednesdays from 11am – 1pm. It’s a great space for chatting and getting to know new people.

For parents with young children, Stepping Stones provides a big space for the kids to run around and play, while Harriet and a group of mums are there for support. Come along to make friends and have fun, on Fridays, 10am – 12 noon.

The busy men’s breakfast: Fuel Stop, is a place to eat together and discuss spiritual issues with guys of varying backgrounds and viewpoints. We’ve either experienced the grace of God, or are open to the grace and friendship that can enrich our lives. It’s 7.15am, the first Wednesday of every month.

The Lounge is a homeless drop-in with a peaceful atmosphere, open Wednesdays and Fridays 10am – 1pm. Guys and girls join us for friendship, a drink, a bite of beans on toast, use of the PC and phone, or the shower and the laundry. There’s clothing on hand too for those in need. There’s immediate practical help, or help in making positive life choices with our Progress in Life – Moving on mentoring service.

Blossom in God is a lunch group for women to get together and relax, every other Monday, from 12 noon – 2pm.

Young at Heart is for those with dementia, or supporting those with dementia, to have a get together and enjoy some dementia-friendly fun, once a month on every fourth Monday – next event Monday 24th October, 1pm – 2.30pm approx.

Your Art is an art group for a range of abilities – come and see what you can do! This group now runs on Wednesdays, 12 noon – 3pm.

We also have a number of skills classes on Mondays and Fridays – ESOL, Sewing, Numeracy and Literacy, IT, Cooking with Rosie (and her team of helpers).

Plus special events, like Friday evening Chinese night or Quiz and Game theme nights.

As we come up to our fifth anniversary, we are inviting all comers to have a tour of our facilities in October.

Last but not least, there are regular church meetings hosted by Jesus Fellowship Church and others who hire rooms, and a midweek Bible Study on a Wednesday evening.
