People enjoy spending time together. We want to encourage the positive relationships that build and strengthen Sheffield’s community life.
We have a Gala Day arranged for Saturday 1 September: fun for all the family, starting at 1pm. We would love to be packed out with people. Rosie is looking for many volunteers to help on the day with setting up, taking down, manning the Cafe and Cakes, Crafts, Bric-a-Brac stalls, games etc. Call Rosie on 07973-411059 about having a Table Top Sale or helping in any other way.
Here are some of the groups that regularly meet at the Jesus Centre, bringing together people with something in common. For all
Knitters and stitchers; Budding artists; Men who like a cooked breakfast; Women who “do lunch”; Parents and tots; Memory cafe; other events:
For experts and novices alike:
This is our very popular art group.
Come along to develop your artistic talent alongside others with a wide range of experience and skill. Liz started the group in her home with one or two friends back in 2011, shortly before we had our centre open. The group has grown and grown and produced some amazing pieces of art.
For experts and novices alike – for anyone who wants to have a go at releasing their creativity in good company: “it feels like a family”.
Sorry ladies, this is a get together for men only, to gather and enjoy a cooked breakfast and discussion with a Christian flavour
For women “doing lunch together”
Parents and young children:
We have been very encouraged to see that our visitors have been making friends with whom they have been meeting up outside of the Jesus Centre. That’s fulfilling one of our key goals: building social cohesion.
Watch out for our programme of social events
